I’m in perpetual effort to capture life, history, feelings, moments, truth. Cameras can lie, I’ll give you that, it is a device that can be manipulated in powerful ways with serious consequences. But the feeling associated with a unique real image never fades when tied to imagery. This is why we have developed a social trait of making pictures of events and scenes from our lives. Because we felt them.

From classic photojournalism of weddings and events to conceptual product illustration to media usage concepts and back to videography, I have too many interests to call myself anything other than a media content creator and consumer. Johannes Gutenberg made a huge impact on our ability to become informed, the Internet has reshaped our lives to become globally connected at will. It fascinates me.

About JL

The short: Joshua Lawton trekking in Peru

–Uses cameras of all kinds to make interesting story presentations – for hire and myself. Rides a bike – as much as possible – for lucidity.

–A graduate of the Professional Photography program at Colorado Mountain College in Glenwood Springs with an Associates Degree and the Journalism program at Metropolitan State College of Denver with a Bachelor Degree.

–Formerly a staff photojournalist at the Boulder Daily Camera of four-plus years, after working as an intern at The Pueblo Chieftain, Daily Camera, Ventura County Star and Glenwood Post.

–I received a Masters Degree in Digital Media at the University of Denver, where I learned to develop various forms of interactive digital media. In case you don’t know yet, I’m an avid cyclist. It’s my outlet.

–Now, I am the co-owner and founder of Joshua & Co. Photography an authentic photojournalism approach to wedding and portrait photography, and Consortium Productions a unique multimedia production company focused on story-driven content.
